**Where are they from?**
Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain, the fifth-largest port in the Mediterranean, and the capital of the region of the same name, where many people speak Valencian, a sister language of Catalan. **History**
Founded in 1919, Valencia initially joined La Liga in 1928, starting in the second division. After promotion in 1931, they’ve maintained top-tier status, except for the 1986/87 season. Despite being the third-most supported club in Spain, Valencia has often played a supporting role to Barcelona and Real Madrid in La Liga. Nonetheless, they have clinched the title six times, with their most recent triumph in 2004, and secured an eighth Copa del Rey trophy in 2019
**Stadium**
The 55,000-seat Mestalla Stadium, named after a nearby canal, was initially called Luis Casanova Stadium, honoring a revered club president. However, in 1994, the president requested the restoration of its original name. Built in 1923, Mestalla is the oldest among La Liga stadiums. Despite construction starting on a new stadium in 2007, financial challenges have stalled progress, leaving the completion date uncertain

Valencia has won only three of their last 32 league encounters with Barcelona, with their 2020 victory breaking a home-winning streak since 2007. Barcelona has a current five-game winning streak against Valencia, including three consecutive wins at Mestalla.
