Finland seals political commitment to raise R&D spending to 4% of GDP

  1. Parliamentary groups agree to set Finland on a path to spend 4% of its GDP on R&D by 2030. The agreement is pending final legislative approval, which is expected to come in early 2023.

  2. I’m not going to hold my breath but I do hope they’ll keep their promise. The previous government made huge cuts to R&D spending and it had be nice if the current government fixed that.
