EU Seeks From Malta to Address New Vaccine Travel Policy As It Doesn’t Align With European Rules – SchengenVisaInfo.com

  1. No surprises here. The maltese government was even told to align the vaccine certificate expiry date with EU regulations. They tried to pull a fast one by making it shorter than what is stipulated by the EU. I wonder what’s behind the obsession to give frequent boosters to everyone when science shows that you don’t need too many boosters in a short time frame.

  2. Remember when Charmaine and Fearne gloated about the “role model” countries we were supposed to be following? Suddenly we’ve become the strictest in mask-wearing rules and self-testing kits are “illegal” (lol).

Sounds like they don’t have faith in a disobedient nation

  3. Interesting. Normally EU laws regarding travel/movement don’t apply to domestic citizens.

I for example have the _right_ to bring a non-EU citizen spouse to settle in any EU country that I’m _not_ a citizen of. I’m surprised that the EU is not adopting a similar position here, given that Malta DOES allow for a 9 month for certs issued abroad.

I guess the fact that non-Maltese EU citizens can get a DCC cert in Malta might be a relevant point.

  4. Someone says that for the foregneirs it is valid for the rule of the issuing country. So if your greeen pass was issued by Germany, Germany rules are to be applied when travelling from Germany to Malta. True?

  5. I’m not Maltese but am an EU citizen of another country, I got vaccinated in Malta. So the question: do I get to live under EU rules, or the Malta rule? I would have got vaccinated at home if I had known the Maltese cert is basically inferior and doesn’t last as long.

  6. Yesterday I’ve received an appointment for a 3rd vaccine without registering for one. Didn’t check up on how the process goes, but is this normal?

  7. What a fucking greasy country, as usual with these bullshit regulations “only in Malta”, finally the EU noticed this bs…
