Any Explanation why VAR didn’t intervene on this call, and as to how this was not a Red Card?
Italian Serie A match with hosts Genoa taking on Juventus , this tackle was a violent studs up tackle that clearly could have broke the opposing players ankle. Referee Booked the player making the tackle with a yellow card, and it’s understandable if the ref was not able to clearly see how bad the foul is, but the fact VAR didn’t call referee to monitor to take a 2nd look is absolutely unacceptable. This is a players safety and this could have caused a serious injury to the offensive player’s ankle. This is unacceptable from any of the major soccer leagues that use the VAR system. The VAR officials for this match should come out with explanation as to why this is not a red card or they should be suspended.
