  1. I feel like it’s a miracle I still haven’t gotten it, haven’t been a close contact of anyone who has gotten it, and barely know anyone who has gotten it.

I nearly wouldn’t mind getting it if it meant a few days at home.

  2. Considering we just passed 1 million total cases in Ireland for the entire pandemic last week, it is wild to think we could do half that in just a single week.

But seriously, are ye spitting in each other’s mouths or what?

  3. 500,00 infected in a week, 1,000 in hospital total, 90 in ICU. Obviously both lag cases, but it’s clear the strong link is broken. So why is it illegal to sit in a cinema or have a pint past 8pm, precisely?

  4. Well historically the influenza pandemic ended not by eliminating the virus but it mutated into a less deadly virus. Vaccines have allowed us to basically speed run a pandemic without too many excess deaths

  5. Can someone give it to me please? I have a surgery in February and knowing my luck I’ll get it just before the surgery and not be able to have it.

  6. So half a million people got omicron in a week and there are <100 people currently in icu who mostly have delta from before and this hasn’t shown a single sign of changing. So this is literally nothing to be concerned. Why do we have any restrictions at all?
