  1. Oh boy Bradford….what a surprise.

What a great idea removing a child from potential parents and just shoving them in Foster care….I bet in the same breath the decision makers also complained about the lack of foster availability and potential adopters.

You couldn’t make this shit up if you tried. What a joke.

  2. Some local authorities place such a high value on keeping the child with the family, even when the child would be far, far better off being adopted into a loving home. This focus on keeping the child with the family can mean they spend years in foster care, with the aim to send them back to their unstable home that can just about cope with them with lots of intervention in place – I just don’t think that approach is good for most of these kids. Kids need stability.

I really feel for the family, and now the little boy is just stuck in the foster system for whatever reason.

Bradford have an absolutely shocking record for their approach to at risk kids.

  3. What’s also troubling is that this is a BAME family, which is in general less likely to either be part of the fostering and adoption system. Then this shows that although this wasn’t about racism a BAME family has had to face this, which won’t encourage more to join the system. The system is poorly functioning on many levels.
