Let’s not forget that the NHS was underfunded, understaffed and generally being run into the ground long before covid.
Covid certainly won’t have helped, but let’s not let the Tories use it as an excuse.
This is so heartbreaking. That poor family.
This is why you have to pay your staff properly. We’ve got a huge brain drain of junior doctors in this country and conditions like this is why. It feels like you’re tethered to a sinking ship more and more every year and you’re the fool for staying
Of course it is. Why is this still being queried? Speak to any fucking NHS worker and they all say the same.
This highlights so much of what is wrong with the NHS right now.
Primary care has been fucked since forever, so any impending heart problems weren’t picked up.
There isn’t enough slack in the system, so there aren’t enough drs and nurses when a crisis like covid inevitably hits.
The Drs and nurses that are there are badly overworked.
Etc etc
Absolutely devastating and I can see why I haven’t been able to see a doctor since I started having seizures last year. It’s really easy for me to be angry at the system and the neurologists who have no time to see me, but then there’s people like Jake, who are on a knife’s edge and there’s no one to help them either. It makes my epilepsy seem so insignificant even though it’s upended my life.
