My great grandmother was originally from Ratiskovice – my mother was very close to her and my mom has talked for years about the Apple Strudel my great grandma would make – how thin she got the dough and how good it was.

– I’m in the US so all the other recipes I’m finding have sugar or brown sugar in them, is that just America messing it up? Or is the added sugar recommended?
– some sites say soak the raisins in rum? Is that right?
– any other tips?
