That feels like a proper “We’re nearly over this” moment.
I know there’s the risk of a new variant or whatever, but eliminating close contact rules would be a great sign of approaching the endpoint.
Proposed changes to Covid isolation rules:
– boosted people with no symptoms won’t have to isolate for 5 days if they are a close contact
– Non boosted contacts to restrict movements for 7 days
– All positive cases to isolate for 7 days
– Antigen tests don’t need PCR confirmation
absolutely infuckingsane. 2 people I work with are out because their wife or husband have it. they are living with someone with this and going to come to work everyday now. fucking ridiculous.
Look it every single person in the universe is going to get it eventually.
I hung out in my house for nearly 2 years, vaxxed, boosted, sanitised, contacts minimised and still caught the damn thing. I absolutely could not have done anything more and still ended up contracting the virus.
It’s absolutely everywhere right now.
If more people getting it (albeit less severely) means an exit out then so be it.
It’s time to end this bastard once and for all.
Anyone that voluntarily wants to stay a hermit is welcome to do so, but for the rest of mankind time to build a bridge and get on with it.
It doesn’t make any sense. Fully vaxxxed and boosted people get infected and spread the virus just as easily as unvaccinated people. The only goal here is to reward vaccinated people and reinforce the desired behaviour. This is politics and not science. Science is a political marketing tool nowadays. Before you judge, have in mind that I am fully vaxxxed and had my booster shot scheduled but had to cancel because I got Omicron.
Have a though. If the pandemic comes to an end naturally by the virus mutating to a less severe strain, how would they claim credit?
