Well, if they not , orcs will destroy Berlin again 🤷🏻
Never gonna happen. Attack would come from the east. Some peasant countries in Baltics would be sacrificed just to stop Ruzzians. NATO was a nice concept against communism, but in real world it was never used against same opponent.
In 2022 year Germany didn’t give Ukraine Tauruses to destroy Crimea bridge? Almost year delayed supply attack weapons to Ukraine? Sell hundreds of percent more of Germany products to neighboring Russia countries? Give Russia 2 years to adapt to war?
Then, yes, now Germany should think about such things, and with every new year of Ukrainian war – many more.
What troops? dont want to be sarcastic but german bundheswehr is not wat it used to be back in cold war times. We should be looking at troops from Poland instead….
Sadly I don’t think it will work very well, especially since we have basically no equipment and vehicles left.
As the great German cabarettist Volker Pispers once said: “the Bundeswehr exists only to hold off the enemy at the border until actual military finally shows up”
The Germans are militarily tough and know what they’re doing. Any senior member of NATO will agree with that assessment.
Any NATO countries not actively preparing for a war against Russia would be a big mistake. Will they fight them in Ukraine or Moldova or wait until they attack Poland and the Baltic states is the question. Will they deploy in an organised fashion at a time of their choice or in a frantic last ditch effort to stop Russian advances. If Ukraine received 200 F-16s and create air superiority in western Ukraine some troops from EU countries could safely take non combatant roles in the West and guard the Belarus border so AFU can move more units towards the front.
yes german troops sent to defend against russia might be attacked by russia

DW News, in a video from 2023 is not so optimistic about the state of German military. 180,000 active troops with 80,000 in reserve- [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBYHWUHCjlU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UBYHWUHCjlU)
>Germany’s military is lacking in staff, equipment and strategy. After years of neglect, war in Europe means strengthening the Bundeswehr is now a priority. But will new attitudes, policy and funding be enough to turn the country’s armed forces around?
OR you could just give Ukraine more weapons instead of limiting options all the time
The Germans wrote the book on squad tactics and developed combined arms warfare as we know it.
They have always been formidable military.
That was Germany when it was fighting on all fronts and stretched thin.
Now they have many, many allies.
I wouldn’t even consider attacking. Suicide.
That’s kind of the deal with NATO. I think we all do that.
Finally, Germans can march through Poland to fight Ruskies and be the good guys…. Oh wait…
