I’m from America and usually for Christmas we have prime rib (or standing rib roast); however, I’m totally unsure if that’s what it would be called here.
What would you ask for at a butcher if you were looking for a prime rib cut of meat? I know ribeye is a cut from the prime rib, so would I just ask for like a whole un cut ribeye? lol
I’ll attach photos to help describe the type of meat I’m talking about

Pretty sure if you ask in english the butcher will understand what you want
In Greek it’s called “spalobreezola” or you can ask for it using the French term “Chateaubriand”. My advice is visiting a butcher instead of buying it from the grocery store, as butcher shops have a bigger variety of fresh meats and cuts and they’ll prepare it for you the way you want it.
Grocery stores/butchers only have low quality meats for steak… If you want you can order from the Ribeye club.. they have a variety of great meats.. they are more expensive than grocery store/butchers but so much worth it
You can get it in high end butchers. Ask to see before you buy but if they know their trade by asking for it (as prime rib) they will sell it to you. Expect it to be hellishly expensive though
If you are in Lefkosia always get your meats from [here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/eekNge2NwZfvQrZRA). Also a traditional serving in Christmas is [gammon](https://xrysessyntages.com/fagita/kreas/chirino/gkamon-me-glaso-meli-portokali/)
Fuuuuk I miss prime rib roasts. 🤤🤤🤤Please tell me you’re making some gravy and mashed potatoes to go with it.
