I’m staying as a workawayer for a month and my room is in the attic of this building. Is this legal as there is no window, or source of heating/ventilation, or smoke detectors. The stairs lock into place when pulled up. If there was a fire I’m not sure I’d be able to unlock them easily as I already struggle in the morning reaching the button. I’m allowed to leave it down at night but it still doesn’t feel safe knowing the zoning codes where I’m from in the US.
