A bit of red tape when you go on holiday is a small price to pay for having taken back control of your border and the ability to control immigration.
Admittedly the control immigration part of the deal doesn’t seem to have paid off, but you can’t have everything.
The EU will stop at nothing to ruin Brits holly bobs :'(
If you travel on a holiday charter flight the queue at passport control in the UK always seems to take longer to clear for UK citizens than it does for non-UK so we get it at both ends; one end it’s red tape the other ineptitude and under-funding. It’s good job Brits don’t mind queuing.
I somehow doubt this will put many people off travelling but if it does it may benefit tourist destinations outside of the EU; either way with our shitty weather there will still be plenty of people seeking out sunny destinations. If EU airports have got any sense they’ll start serving beer in the queue for immigration control and make some money out of the situation.
Starting to think that maybe the so-called ‘experts’ were right about Brexit being a bad idea 🤔
“They knew what they voted” should be printed on a big sign.
Hmm… how does this differ from any other non-EU country?
Let’s be honest: apart from the general politics of Brexit, the EU clearly wants to punish us for leaving to disincentivise others from doing the same.
A recent example would be referring to the Falklands as “Islas Malvinas”.
I’m Irish and my wife is British and we have to go through different lanes. Í have to wait for her to get through and the wait is longer and longer.
So sounds like the same system for getting into the US and I assume a few other places, and won’t be implemented until after the Olympics because France don’t want to deal with the hassle.
Sounds like a bit of a nothing burger and just another thing to deal with by not being in the Shengen zone.
I don’t get all this red-tape about entering non-EU European countries. I have been to Switzerland a few times and you can go between Switzerland and France pretty much freely.
