As I’ve had it explained to me, preventing this kind of bullshit is exactly why Armenia went all in on becoming a Russian client state… enough that they vocally took the role as lead mouthpiece when Russia intervened to facilitate the oppression of Kazakhstan’s protesting citizens.
Kinda seems like that might have been a raw deal?

All the while Russia is obliged through the CSTO to defend Armenian territory, just like it sent troops to Kazakhstan, and prefers to amass it’s forces near its borders with Ukraine to threaten it.
