  1. They *are* medals.

Thankyou for listening to my TED talk.

  2. Looks like campaign medals mostly.

    – The first medal appears to be awarded to commonwealth servicemen for service during WW2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_Medal_1939%E2%80%931945

    – The three bronze stars being given to servicemen that served during the second world war, served the atlantic campaign, and served in the North Africa Campaign.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_Starhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_the_Atlantic The Battle of the Atlantic pitted U-boats and other warships of the German Kriegsmarine (Navy) and aircraft of the Luftwaffe (Air Force) against the Royal Navy, Royal Canadian Navy, United States Navy, and Allied merchant shipping. Convoys, coming mainly from North America and predominantly going to the United Kingdom and the Soviet Union, were protected for the most part by the British and Canadian navies and air forces. These forces were aided by ships and aircraft of the United States beginning September 13, 1941.[13] The Germans were joined by submarines of the Italian Regia Marina (Royal Navy) after Germany’s Axis ally Italy entered the war on June 10, 1940.

    – The rainbow ribbon appears to be a WW1 victory medal, similar in meaning to the first two on the top row. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_Medal_(United_Kingdom)
However the medal appears different to that depicted even though the ribbon is the same.

Further review it could be the US version https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/world-war-i-victory-medal-with-battle-clasps-817-c-1e148e887f

    – Lastly, the safe driving medal, also appears to be issued during WW2 https://www.atlasantiques.co.uk/en-GB/medals/ww2-british-safe-driving-competition-medal-with-1942-46-bars/prod_14826. However your version could be a continuation of the award, as you can note the dates of award by the bars. So this would’ve been issued in the 60s.
