  1. >“I’m proud that I prevented the establishment of a Palestinian state because today everybody understands what that Palestinian state could have been, now that we’ve seen the little Palestinian state in Gaza,” Netanyahu said at a news conference.

There is plenty to criticize from what Netanyahu has said and done. But I interpret this quote as meaning something like, “if 7/10 is any indication of what we could expect from a Palestinian State, I’m glad we haven’t allowed it to happen yet.”

This doesn’t necessarily mean that Netanyahu is against the idea of a Palestinian State, just certainly not one that is led by Hamas.

I realize people are going to take away what they want from this quote. That’s just my interpretation.

  2. But lets keep on raging against Biden like he has any control over this guy, or what Israel does.

  3. Why don’t we just make a deal, get rid of Hamas and Likud.

  4. I hope he will be put in jail for lives. Zero accountability. He is trying to save face shamefully.

  5. As much as I support Israel, this fucker makes it that much more difficult. He needed to go 15 years ago.

  6. If there wasn’t a conflict, politicians like him wouldn’t have a job.

  7. A 2 state solution has been proposed and usually rejected by Palestinian leaders, not Israel. Netanyahu is acting against peace

  8. If it’s a state where the people put Hamas in power then it’s better that way

  9. While I’m no Netanyahu fan to say the least, until the Palestinians can come up with leaders that reject terrorism, stop glorifying and rewarding suicide bombings, and embrace the idea of peace and coexistence, the two state solution is not viable. I pray one day the above will actually happen. Not Arafat and Not Abu Mazen have been the leader needed to facilitate peace.

  10. That’s all he’s done… While undermining worldwide support for Israel. A very temporary accomplishment

  11. Both Hamas and Netanyahu agree: the worst possible scenario is a Palestinian government that works for the benefit of the Palestinian people.

  12. I used to be in favor of a 2-state solution and had been ever since the seventies. That was prior to 10/7. Those days are gone forever. Bibi is a terrible dickhead and needs to go but I do not see another future PM of any party seriously reviving that solution after all that happened and is still happening. The Arabs can thank Haniyeh for that. Palestine never did exist in history as a state and now it will never do in the future either.

  13. Can they exchange this shitlord for the rest of the hostages?

  14. I thought the Palestinians were the ones who rejected peace at Oslo. Now Bibi is saying it was him. Who do I believe?

  15. This is a complete lie by the way, on Netanyahu’s part. He signed the Y Accords with Arafat that expanded the Palestinian Authority and moved IDF bases out of the West Bank.

  16. His policy direction will lead to more deaths of Israel citizens for many years to come not fewer. Exchanging the lives of your fellow citizens for the hope of delaying or avoiding criminal charges is despicable.

In my opinion one of the biggest lessons from WW2 is that extreme right persecution engendered a collective strength of purpose that those most persecuted would survive and grow.

  17. Netanyahu and the Israelis who voted for this man are half of the problem. Hamas is the other half.

  18. Not surprising that someone on a mission to expand their state is glad to have gained land and prevented someone else from doing so.

  19. Both Netanyahu and Hamas seem to believe in some sort of fantasy third option for one-state or two-state solution where the other party of the conflict simply disappears overnight.

  20. Looks like there needs to be an obvious winner and loser in this one. 2 state solution isn’t possible when one or both sides want the other dead without compromise. It sucks but here we are.

  21. As much as I hate Bibi he’s not wrong about this. The world does not need another state that wants to eradicate the Jews and Palestinians are very far from being able to put together a functioning state that does anything but attack Israel.

  22. He’s been against the peace process since the very beginning. I’m sure he was happy when Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated.

  23. Well, pretty sure it was the Palistians who rejected a 2-state solution 4 different times, long before Bibi. The last time, in the 90’s, they were literally given everything they asked for and 3% of the WB, and rejected that as well…..because, ya know, they just hate the Jews. The Jew-hate in that part of the world runs deep. So deep that they will continue to oppose any peace because they hate Jews that much.

  24. Is that supposed to be surprising? What else would he say.

  25. He poured the gas and HMAS lite it. They are both arsonists.

  26. Him and (some of) his government are imo about as bad as Hamas, they just wear suits and do the same things in a more ‘civilised’ way.

Preventing stability in the region ✅
Killing of thousands of civilians ✅
Propaganda and false justification for massacres ✅
    Preventing elections ✅
Treating the other side like they’re all monsters ✅
    Killing hostages ✅
    Killing kids ✅

Hamas and netanyahu have done both. The region would be far better off if both were to disappear.

  27. Based on the general consensus on r/wordnews. We should punish the Israelis for voting for him too.

  28. How is this man proud of anything he has done after the 7th? This fucker is delusional and needs to be put out before he makes this disaster a catastrophe.

  29. Proud to have prevented peace for years. Weird flex.

  30. He was instrumental in the creation of Hamas. He always said that a secular Palestinian opponent would get global support against Israel’s policies of colonialism and apartheid. By forcing a Muslim terrorist group, he can gander support from weirdo Christian’s seeking the rapture.

  31. If anyone thinks a Palestinian state would be anything less than Hamas owned Gaza 2.0, you are deluding yourself.

The negotiation of the two state solution is so wild in general.

Israel must supply the land, the utilities, the infrastructure, and a hefty amount of $$$ to establish the Palestinian state. In return, Palestinians can’t even guarantee they will stop slaughtering Israelis as soon as they see them.

What kind of backwards negotiation is this? Can you imagine any country on earth even entertaining this concept?

  32. Because if they had one it would be hamas on steroids.

  33. Don’t forget that he also directly financed Hamas in the first place. Dude had been caught sending briefcases and luggage full of money to Hamas, yet every time he gets caught doing so he just says it was ‘stolen.’

Yeah, the unmarked cars full of luggage of cash driven to Hamas bases was *stolen,* sure buddy. Netanyahu is a traitor to Israel, purposely funding its enemies to prevent demonized people of Gaza from ever escaping from the thumb of Hamas and organizing a legitimate government.
