Which makes him above the law, which is total bullshit.
Well yeah it’s ethically reprehensible. The news breaking about his corruption is the only reason why a toothless statement of ethics was made by SCOTUS.
why do we waste time talking about “ethics” if absolutely nothing happens as a consequence of throwing them out the window?
I mean this was all predicted as per his confirmation hearing. Source I watched it live back in the day.
These articles are 100% masturbatory at this point. We know. And absolutely nothing will be done about it.
Call me when legal scholars have more authority than billionaires who buy Justices.
A particle of shame and respect for law and he would resign. But if he had respect or shame, he wouldn’t be corrupt as fuck.
And if he’s allowed to keep doing it anyway, is it against the law? Is against the law even a real concept?
What would Republicans say if we found out that RBG had been complaining about her pay and dropping hints she would resign, then George Soros sent her on fancy vacations, gave her shady “loans” and paid for some of her expenses?
It’s a trick question. They wouldn’t say anything because their heads would explode.
“Almost”
Joe Biden guided this corrupt scumbag onto the Supreme Court.
Constitution doesn’t say anything about corruption. He’ll be fine.
Counting on a pardon from Trump?
If someone did something unlawful then could we please arrest them?
If it were unlawful, someone would be doing something about it, wouldn’t they? But no one is, so it’s lawful. So either the media needs to shut up and accept that this is our country, or someone needs to do something about it, which is never going to happen, because this is our country.
Okay… then do something about it.
A quick reminder that Abe Fortas was not only denied the Chief Justice job, but forced to resign over a lot, lot less.
I agree with the scholar, but the problem is he is one of the people who gets to say if a law is lawful. I hate using pop-culture references, but it’s really a “Who watches the Watchmen?” kind of thing here
Anita Hill tried to warn us about his amorality but the Senate thought it knew better.
Do we need a legal scholar for this? How could their opinion be otherwise?
I’m so sick of these articles. We know he’s a corrupt shit, but what can we even do about it? Anyone that has the direct/vaguely direct power to do anything is currently trying to get the same benefactors he has to slide them a tip too.
Since nothing has come of all the rampant corruption coming to light, wake me when something is done about it other than tightly-clutched pearls.
No wonder so many people are giving up on American democracy and its legal system, because they’re a fucking joke when so many get away with such blatant corruption and law-breaking that would get the rest of us decades of jail time and hugely punitive fines.
Fucking wake me when something is done about it.
I believe someone soon will formally charge the Justice, cause you know the GOP would be balls deep into a SCOTUS impeachment if the tables were turned
Congress can’t do anything about him, but could he be disbarred? Can you be on the Supreme Court if you are disbarred?
This guy must be removed from his office and sentenced to life in prison for treason
“Certainly unlawful and ethically reprehensible” is a good way to describe Republicans in general
Wrong if a justice does it is perfectly legal. Duh. Sarcasm
Ya think?
Every single decision needs to be examined. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
He’s a the least unethical and at worst for sale.
Not the porn addict, sex pest Clarence Thomas??
Like it matters in this country
