  1. Women’s football in England has received a massive boost in popularity this year, and she has always been at the heart of it. Happy for her

  2. The award and programme is finished, may as well scrap it. Been utter dross for years and this is the final nail in the coffin.

Bring back the days when elite sports men and women won the award and they actually had some sport on the bbc

  3. Fucking christ. The country is well and truly finished. I dont follow this dross anymore but has she won this on the back of this nike shirt bollocks?

  4. I love seeing how triggered people are that Mary won this

  5. I’d love to see a graph on empathy comprehension/intelligence and it’s correlation to “football lads” who are obsessed with commentating on women’s football.

For not being interested and hating women’s football; a lot of these people are extremely vocal about it. Have these people got nothing better to worry about besides the immersion of women’s football into the mainstream.

  6. Why are men all for “women and men are equal yet different and should be treated as such”… until it’s football and then women are all shit and should be compared to the men.

You can’t have it both ways. Either men and women are equal and their football skills and achievements should be compared to one another OR women are different to men (yet still equal) and their achievements should reflect that.

Madness that women’s football takes up so much space in the minds of small men.

  7. England making real strides in propelling Womens Football

  8. I was rooting for her, so chuffed she won.
She’s had an amazing couple of years and is an incredible role model for young kids, especially girls.

  9. Who else should have won it? Stuart Board finished 2nd because…he’s just retired? I think it’s more of a scandal that Jude Bellingham wasn’t nominated.
