They should not be using these troops to mindlessly charge into minefields or sustain heavy casualties but as a strategic reserve near Kyiv. Out of those 500000 maybe 50000 would be hardcore and want to fight closer to the front
In other words I think it should be a new formation “national guard” and strictly controlled. Ukraine needs a strategic reserve in case there is any sudden emergency or disaster to prevent collapse as unlikely as it seems.
