Trump lost Colorado to Biden 4 years ago, it doesn’t matter if he is banned from that state, he wasn’t going to win it anyway.
Won’t be surprised if he is also DQed in MN for the general.
Can’t he just move to Russia and have Mexico pay for it?
It will all be appealed, win or lose and move to the supreme court
He was never qualified to begin with.
This could balloon. Fn hope so. Not sure how appealing will affect.
About time. Assigning responsibility to Trump for January 6th is the only reasonable outcome. There is no valid logic that absolves him of any responsibility for that day.
As of right now, this ruling only applies to the state of Colorado where this hearing took place. His lawyers are already declaring they will appeal this to the US Supreme Court and this can go one of three ways:
1) They decide not to take this case. This means that the ruling stands and applies only to Colorado as is right now. Other states will have to make their own rulings, and given that one case has already set a precedent, it will make it easier for other courts to rule the same way, though inevitably not all of them will. A case like this will likely come right back to the SCOTUS eventually anyway, so they’d only be kicking the can down the road on this.
2) The overturn the Colorado ruling, now in Trump’s favor, thus allowing him to run for President again, however this means that they are putting a man who wants to become a dictator above the constitution that they are supposed to be protecting, thus weakening their own power by undermining their own legitimacy, which is already being questioned.
3) The Colorado ruling is upheld, meaning that it becomes a nationwide ruling which eliminates Trump from ever running for any office in the US again.
Does he feel lucky?
This republican regime should be fallen
colorado is a red state so this has big implications. georgia should also disqualify trump.
The fact that it took this long and that he has slave-follower is incredible.
Can someone explain to a foreigner how A) a state can disqualify someone who isn’t even a resident of that state from running for president, B) an individual state supreme court has ANY input whatsoever in a federal election (is that not election interference?), and C) what’s to stop, say, Florida’s supreme court saying “Biden is disqualified because of xyz?”
This title is clickbait and also doesn’t have anything to do with Ukraine
How can this apply to only Colorado? For election purposes, sure, but amendment 14 section 3 isn’t a rule about getting on ballots, it a disqualification for holding office.
So, pending an overturn by the Supreme Court, Colorado officials are not allowed to recognize Trump as President.
It makes no sense to have a president of only 49 states, so is it all over for the Trump campaign?
