It makes me think: all these “rich countries” have higher rates of depression, why? In Luxembourg supposedly people make enough money to live a decent life. Which brings us to the topic: social life and weather, but mostly having close family and friends and the importance of that for a happy life.
half the country comes from abroad, and often have to start fresh (no family or friends). A number of people are also always leaving and entering the country, which leads people to not putting effort into real relationships/connections in Luxembourg. The ones who want to stay have a kid or want to make a kid.
Therapists dont even have appointments, and their waiting lists are very long.
what are your thoughts or observations? What were or are your solutions?

High living costs, high pressure/high performance jobs. Lack of pastimes/hobbies. Time consuming commutes, lack of feeling of community. Not being near family. Hire/fire mentality. Being transferred all over the place. Poor weather. All add up.
