  1. > Smith’s investigation is moving to the House.

    Things are getting spicy.

  2. > Messages from Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry’s cell phone **could** include evidence about Donald Trump’s alleged criminal attempts to overturn the 2020 election results after a judge allowed large numbers of them to be handed over to federal prosecutors, legal experts have said.

  3. >In a ruling on Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said that more than 1,600 communications sent from Perry, including texts and emails, can be handed over the Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office after rejecting the argument they fall under the U.S. Constitution’s “speech or debate” clause. The clause states that members of Congress can’t be questioned in criminal investigations on matters relating to their legislative duties.

This is also bullshit. Communications is not a speech. It’s also not a debate.

    >The clause states that members of Congress can’t be questioned in criminal investigations on matters relating to their legislative duties.

Politicians in Congress are not duty bound to commit crimes. Debate and speech all you want and there’s no problem. Try and overthrow the US government and yeah people are going to ask questions.

I’m too stupid to get in trouble needs to stop being a reason to not get in trouble. Especially for people running The United States of America.

  4. Newsweek is click bait, as in “incendiary”.

Trump’s treason, criminality, vileness, and general dumbfuckery has been out there for years. Republicans don’t care. Apparently plenty of Dems and independent don’t care either, per Biden’s inexplicable disapproval ratings.

Incendiary? It would be nice to think there was still something out there to convince rational people a second Trump presidency will truly fuck america. But i’m not holding my breath.

  5. Scott Perry to be indicted next? 🤔 Jack Smith will single-handedly save this country.

  6. >Smith’s investigation is moving to the House.

Its been in the House since *before August 2022* when Perrys phone was seized.

  7. No forensic expert here… these messages would be from 2020. The phone was seized in 2022. If incriminating texts / data had been erased what are the odds of recovery? Will this be another convenient data scrub like we had with the secret service?

  8. >”After successfully resisting for two years, he has been ordered to turn over the majority of texts from his phone. [Should] include some very incendiary texts.”

    So they’ll be “lost” then.

  9. Like what? CNN footage of him attempting an insurrection?
His fraud conviction? His rape conviction? The fact that he stole classified documents and refused to return them?

This is absurd. This cretin should have been I. Prisoned literally years ago.

  10. From the article:

In a ruling on Tuesday, Chief U.S. District Judge James Boasberg said that more than 1,600 communications sent from Perry, including texts and emails, can be handed over the Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office after rejecting the argument they fall under the U.S. Constitution’s “speech or debate” clause. The clause states that members of Congress can’t be questioned in criminal investigations on matters relating to their legislative duties.

Great news, now do the other traitors in Congress.

  11. The amount of content Smith is getting will likely take us into some SURPRISING directions. Recall that Monica Lewinsky emerged from an investigation into a failed land purchase in Arkansas. It was bullshit… but a reminder that the things uncovered when rocks are picked up may be unexpected.

In this case, he has him dead-to-rights on the insurrection stuff. My hunch is that he’ll find… other things, too.

  12. “Perry denied seeking a pre-emptive pardon.”

    Of course he denied it.

  13. Is it “everything he’s publicly admitted to?” Because we already have that.

  14. >Perry has not been charged with any crime as part of Smith’s 2020 election probe.

Not yet. Let’s hope that changes.

  15. At this point, shouldn’t Trump plead guilty and throw himself on the mercy of the country! No mercy there! I meant, court!

  16. Government officials of all levels will fall because of their blatant attempts to keep trump in power!!

  17. I would put forth the argument that Trump’s seditious activities were not done as part of his duties as president, but were done in the role of a candidate.

  18. Why, again, is Newsweek considered a credible news org? Headline with ‘incendiary’ and then following up with

    > Messages from Pennsylvania Representative Scott Perry’s cell phone ***could*** include evidence about Donald Trump’s alleged criminal attempts to overturn the 2020 election results after a judge allowed large numbers of them to be handed over to federal prosecutors, legal experts have said.

    Clickbait. That’s all Newsweek has.

  19. How he evaded turning his phone over for 2 years blows my mind.

  20. Another piece of “evidence” that will hold
No value in 2 months, You Reddit freaks are delusional.

  21. How do we know its incendiary if we don’t know what it is?
