Yes, it was discussed when this meaningless friendly was initially announced.
Very short-sighted and irresponsible decision by the board to schedule this type of match at this particular date, given the extreme fixture congestion and injury crisis not just in our team but in football as a whole.
For people saying we’re just going to play the B team, I ask again, who is going to pay 5 million just to see Marc Guiu and friends? I don’t mean this as an insult to his qualities, it’s just that he’s not known yet.
And lastly, I’m speculating here but it’s also possible this affected the team morale negatively, I’d be pretty pissed off if I was forced to travel 10k kilometers during my holidays.
