  1. Waste of money. The total sum that will be flushed down the drain to satisfy diesel sniffers (who won’t be satisfied anyway, after this is done they’ll be back to demand triple lanes) could have paid for dualing and electrifying the railway, and increases in services.

  2. How many lives will this cost?

I just do not understand prioritising a council tax freeze over the lives of highlanders.

  3. >Over the last 10 years, two sections of single carriageway totalling 11 miles (18km) of road have been upgraded.

    >About 77 miles has yet to be dualled.

I don’t understand how so little was done in ten years. Also, this implies the rest of the 77 miles will be done in the _next_ ten years. How can highlanders be confident of that when in the past ten years it’s done just a seventh of that?

The article mentions a rolling programme of construction which is positive

  4. One hell of an EoT.

Originally announced in 2011, the projects failure been bleedin’ obvious to anyone watching since around 2015.

    Absolute shower of incompetent fuckwits.

  5. Gee, if only Covid, Brexit and the war in Ukraine never happened then they sure would’ve made it in time 🙁

  6. Maybe we should sign up to China’s Belt and Road Initiative 🙂

  7. Was this really that much of a surprise? Govt doesn’t care about this
