Welfare came about in order to pacify the militant working class and to keep unemployed afloat until they’re needed by capital. There’s little to celebrate here.
Most workers in the US have their health care directly paid for through their employer as part of a CBA, ie. unions forcing concessions from the capitalists. Whereas in Sweden everyone pays for it through a flat tax rate. One is the working class using it’s own organs to pursue it’s immediate needs and the other is a measure implemented by state bureaucrats.
