>Brian Fox was a life-long employee of JLR, having secured a job there aged just 16 years old.
Your daily reminder that loyalty only goes one way when it comes to these twats.

> Eventually, I had a doctor’s letter to say I was fully fit with no restrictions.”
and
> I asked to work days because I thought it would be better for my health
Those two appear to be in conflict. Not that that makes JLR’s antics any better, but I get the feeling I am missing something or the article didn’t full explain it.
The story seems to be missing something.
So it states that he had two heart surgeries and on his return he requested to only work days which they refused. (wankers)
This prompted the tribunal.
It then goes on to say that he had a doctors letter stating that he was fit to work with no conditions and was fired with no reason given..
So did they fire him because he refused to work nights and he then went to a tribunal?
Did they let him go because they claimed he was unfit to work and he got a doctor to state otherwise?
Jaguar Land Rover is appealing the amount. Any judge with any sense would agree, and double it.
Loyalty means fuck all nowadays, anywhere, not just the UK unfortunately.
Mate was a Captain for Cathay Pacific twenty five years on the 747/777.
Was “reluctantly let go” via an out of the blue email.
Tried to contact HR on the number specified in the email and it was continually busy.
I feel like if this were a successful tactic the article would’ve mentioned it.
What a trash company that after working for them for 43 years you say “can I only work the day shift?” and they go “No how dare you.”
I work at the Solihull site and can confirm, it’s a horrible place to work. The people in charge are racist, homophobic bullies. If it wasn’t for the money I would have left a long time ago
Company that makes hideously unreliable cars with an awful record of customer care also treats it’s staff like shit?
You don’t say….
The article states that he had a doctor’s letter telling them he could work without restrictions?
250k is a bit extreme but I suppose working somewhere for 40years pays off
Hope he enjoys his retirement
This also goes to show that any company that unfairly dissmisses people will be sued so they should think before acting
And what happened when the ‘bailiffs’ rocked up then? Don’t leave us in suspenders.
Don’t expect loyalty from corporations, institutions or companies.
