  1. Interesting fact, that Greece hasn’t changed its military spending and yet the percentage is lower than last year.

This is because of the GDP growing.

  2. The 2% mark has been missed by so many for so long that people forget it’s supposed to be the bare minimum, not a guarantee to have enough. It’s what NATO’s most geographically secure state is supposed to spend in times of peak stability, these days my country’s 4% is much closer to appropriate and still not meeting 2% is an absolute fucking joke.

  3. I wonder what all the countries who doubled their spending have in common….

Doesn’t take a genius to know why Poland, Lithuania, Finland and Latvia have a far higher defense budget .

  4. What does it look like if you subtract offense expenditure from this?

  5. Can anyone explain why we would meet the 2% goal if the majority of funds are funnelled into US arms industry putting EU industry growth at a disadvantage. Why would anyone want to give away 2% of their GDP to the US when they’re not exactly stable. It’s better to invest in our own arms industry at EU level like is now finally happening. Outside of (NATO) defence spending

  6. Best minimum wage in EUrope, Luxembourg, least expenditure for safety. 👎

    Hmmmm……..

Except US,UK and Finland , all over 2% are countries … how to put it… that don’t have a rather good living standard for the average citizen let’s say, but still manage to put some effort.

  7. Funny how the Western Euros are constantly talking about how Hungary should be kicked out of NATO because Hungary is a traitor and now they are caught lacking.

  8. I’d like to see another graph where support for Ukraine is stacked on top.

  9. We should put this money into our own arms industry instead of buying foreign produce

  10. Finland is a provider of security, not a swindler living in the wings.

  11. All the useless slacker freeriders should be kicked out of NATO!

  12. Germany should finally ramp it up. Also I really needs to make spending more efficient.

  13. Countries that dont meet the 2.0 after 5 years shouldnt get any protection.
