  1. So much for Juche self-reliance, but I guess the massive cognac imports already suggested that.

  2. Why would a communist leader need to own a luxury SUV built in a capitalist country, how does that benefit the people of North Korea?

I don’t know, this smells fishy. Communists famously *reject* ostentatious wealth and materialism, it’s kind of fundamental to their philosophy. I think Yahoo is probably wrong about this, like all the Western imperialist media, that’s why I get *my* news from http://www.RealTruthNewsFreedomPatriot.com.ru, it’s the only way to be sure.

Edit: I thought the /s would be obvious.

  3. > North Korea has a long history of receiving luxury goods, including cars, and not paying for them. Back in the 1970s it ordered 1,000 Volvos from Sweden, took the vehicles, and never paid a cent.

Presuming that this was before sanctions prohibited such a sale, why would any company deliver a thousand vehicles before any form of payment was received?

  4. I like to think he shows his fancy stuff off on NK Instagram or a group chat with minions

  5. Silly dealer. He didn’t realize that he could have just gotten a Lada, removed the ada, drawn a circle around the L, and Kim would have never known the difference. Nobody would have gotten on his ass for it either.

  6. Damn. Pretty good customer service if you ask me
