Germany, Sweden etc held this sign on the streets and train stations in 2016 and now it’s all turned sour and the far-right has risen to the top.

You guys should really learn from the lessons other EU countries have learned the hard way. I remember when Holland was one of the most progressive countries in the world, 20 years into the multicultural experiment and it’s a complete failure. Walking around in my city I hardly hear any Dutch spoken anymore. All the white Dutch people that can afford it have fled the big city. I remember coming to Ireland and thinking how wonderful it is that it’s not gone to shit like my home country has. But it’s starting to change I see.
The club that employed and supported a rapist that was later deported. Great bunch of lads.

The amount of right wing boogeymen in here is insane. The majority of refugees are real and the majority don’t commit crime. Stop blaming them for the housing crisis and realise that previous governments have failed, continuously to build further housing.

A lot of these things going up of late. The welcome crowd is getting scared now they realise they cant trick or beat people into silence and most of us are against the scammers they openly support.
Refugees welcome 100% . We could sort enough homes for everyone, homeless , refugees, people can’t afford rent by taking over empty homes and building in short term and medium term public housing accessable to everyone.
Ireland already diverse so let’s build on that by bringing people together. If you want to do something practical join a tenants union like catu ireland http://www.catuireland.org/join
Refugees are women, children and elderly. Military capable men between 18 and 60 cannot be refugees at the time their president is looking to mobilize another 500 000 soldiers. The Irish government should visit these centres and gather up men who need to enlist and send them back to Ukraine to make more room for women children and elderly. It’s harsh but wars are like that and it’s their war to fight. Men who are eligible for military service during war that run away are not refugees they are deserters.

It’s a big effort but they have to be 100% checked.
What if they were military dissenters and not people judged for there ethnicity, like Karen people in Myanmar or Christian’s from Sudan?
Don’t think anyone has issue with refugees, reality is only 35% of those applying are actual refugees.
Ukrainians are here under a temporary protection directive vs applying for Asylum.

Would like to say anyone from Turkey is not a refugee. There isnt any war or unrest ever happened.
I know people like to take the piss out of Bohs saying they can house them in Dalymount etc. While the club might be a bit cringe worthy at times, they have raised serious money for refugee NGOs and done vital work attracting attention to the plight of asylum seekers and other minority groups.
They might be welcome but how many is welcome and how many can stay what happens when there’s not enough room where can they go and where are they welcome to stay
