The 2024 presidential election will be a shitshow since the republican party realizes the only way they can “win” it is by stealing it, rigging it, creating plausible scenarios by which they can contest it, sowing doubt that the clear outcome is a legitimate, etc. The greater role that Trump has to play in it, the greater will be the shitshow. Removed sounds more deliberate and/or political based on a local decision.

Nobody is upset that Barack Obama and George W Bush can’t be on the ballot because of the 22nd Amendment
Nobody is upset that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez can’t be on the ballot because of Article II of the Constitution
So why is everyone acting like it’s so heinous that Trump can’t be on the ballot because of the 14th Amendment?
Not sure if this has been asked, could someone still vote for Trump as a write-in candidate? I hope not.

We should not have people in political positions openly calling for candidates — even traitors like Trump — to be removed from the ballots. This should be entirely guided by legal and constitutional considerations.
He needs to be held accountable for trying to overturn and election and election crimes. This is how. You shouldn’t get to just run again after 2020.
So the liberal states remove him from the primary ballot, the conservative states don’t, and then how massive of a shit show will it be when someone other than Trump wins the nomination only because they picked up delegates in states where Donald was kicked from the ballot? What would go down at the convention under those circumstances?

The polls aren’t looking good right now, I know we’re far away from the election but it seems like a sizable chunk of people want Trump back in office. In order to protect our democracy we need to do all we can to make sure he can’t get votes.
CA is key to Trump’s early victory in the GOP primary. The GOP awards all delegates from a state to the primary winner, rather than doing it proportionately (which is how Dems do it), winning CA almost ensures a win in the GOP primary assuming he wins a few other states. If CA were to go to Haley that would give her a serious running at the delegate count….assuming delegates are obligate to nominate the winner in the state though I’m not sure how the CA GOP party manages their delegates. But if Trump is kicked off in a few large states (CA, NY, maybe even FL which would be hilarious) there’s a good chance he wouldn’t get the delegate nod during the primary (though may get it during the convention which would also be hilarious).
Trump clearly is disqualified by the constitution. The right thing to do is to take him off the ballot. If the Republicans threaten to take Biden off the ballot, they can threaten that but that doesn’t mean we should stop doing the right thing.
I can see states like Colorado, Georgia, or any state where Trump actively interfered. That was not the case with California. They should stay out of the fray since anything else is not a legal action, but a political one. That is not a good road to go down. Stay with crimes committed in your own back yard.
