The Premier League along with numerous clubs have come out to stamp their stance against the European Super League

  1. Although it is still difficult to say where the European Super League will go after this latest ruling, I think that it would be tough for Premier League clubs to move on.

Firstly, I remember that the PL had made an agreement with all the clubs that anyone who accepted the ESL would be kicked out of the league.

Second, the fans will simply riot. Although I’ve noticed a lot of fans who were initially against it have come out in support of it, it still feels like the majority of the fans are against it.

Nevertheless, it’s impossible to say whether the ESL will materialize or not.

  2. This new go at the ESL is clearly spearheaded by Barca and Real….now you would think that both parties would have got together before today and made sure if the other big clubs in Europe were still on board but by all accounts none of them are. E.g Liverpool, man u, atleti, Dortmund, Munich etc.

  3. It won’t go anywhere. There has been a ruling to say they could go ahead with proposals that’s all. Thats a far cry from people who are acting like it’s back and everybody’s on board with it again.

Its a bon-stoey that the media will run with for a week or so whilst they can before it magically stops being talked about again.

Perez will probably still want it, Clubs in trouble like barca and Juve will no doubt be all for it but the english clubs who jumped on board last minute and read the room wrong big time like chelsea. City and spurs will have learned their lesson and won’t go anywhere near it.

The American owners of liverpool, United and arsenal who were the key men in getting the original super league going will all still be very keen on the idea but I doubt any of them are willing to stick their head above the sand once more after the backlash last time.

they’ll remain in the shadows on any attempts to restart this and won’t front another attempt so soon. and so, without the English clubs backing its never in a million years going to get off the ground.

  4. I find it ironic that most people forget that the Premier League was a breakaway league/competition that had money at its core, that many were indeed against.
