  1. “Ukraine has completely ceased using Russian spare parts for nuclear reactors and now produces its own,” according to Energoatom, Ukrainian Nucreal State Agency.
Ukraine replaced Russian components with domestically produced parts or those manufactured in partner countries. Specifically, this includes inserts for VVER-440 reactors that were previously only made in Russia.

“Alongside our American partner Westinghouse, we’ve broken Russia’s monopoly on producing fuel for such reactors. However, apart from that, we also need inserts. And now we can produce them,” said the Agency’s director, Kotin.

Additionally, according to him, Ukraine is moving towards the development of Small Modular Reactor (SMR) technology.

  2. This is actually better news than many people realize. This sort of independence is the foundation for true progress! 👏👏👏

  3. Westinghouse? Shit, that’s the company that made the monitor I’m currently typing this on!
