  1. does anyone have a link to the banned advertisement?

  2. >the bride points to her engagement ring and says “if I can wait 12 years for this, he can wait for 15 minutes”.

Should have been banned for this sexist line. Further strengthens the implication women are just waiting for the gift of an engagement ring.

My own brother in law would never have asked his partner to marry them if he wasn’t getting constant hints from my other sisters and her friends.

I see it amongst fellas amongst my own age group. Lads only asking for marriage because they’ve been going out a couple years and they know women have a fantasy dreamed up in their head.

  3. “Unhealthly”

Is the source ruling incorrectly spelled or can the Journal not even quote correctly?

  4. “there’s probably more chicken under there that they’d probably eat in under 15 minutes”

    -Someone on a taxpayer-funded salary.

  5. Only now? That ad is well over 2 years old. And I haven’t seen it in months.

  6. Nowhere does it suggest they need to eat all that chicken in one sitting. Madness to ban an ad on that reading of it

  7. Yet same watchdog can apparently do fuck all about the illegal advertising of stage one infant formula.

  8. The Irish nanny state and it’s going to get worse if we don’t stop it.

  9. Wait till the people complaining about this see the Eir gigglybit ad……

  10. This is what our taxes are being spent on? This is a fucking joke.

  11. Comments here suggest of redditors have bad eating and don’t like being called out on it.

  12. ASAI making work for themselves, same as all those cultural commissars end up doing.

  13. The KFC’s here are subpar anyway! No cole slaw, to be fair the cole slaw is the best thing about KFC, IMO. And why KFC and not Taco Bell. Wouldn’t some bean burritos make everything better?

  14. It’s unhealthy but so are most things that are being advertised. I could probably do half a bucket myself.

I have eaten the Nando’s platter for 4 on my own as a birthday dinner.

  15. It’s her wedding day. They’ll be lucky to see their dinner by 7-8pm. I wouldn’t blame them for filling up.

  16. Fall ‘fowl’ surely? Disappointed that a pro journalist would miss that!

  17. All the comments here about the ASAI creating work for themselves to justify their existence smh.

They received a complaint about an Ad, they reviewed the Ad and determined it didn’t meet their standards, case closed. Do you all just not want them to do their jobs? Or is doing their jobs “notions” these days?

  18. With the size of KFC chicken these days and chips that go strait in the bin, it has never been easier to polish off a bargain bucket in one sitting.

  19. They should have gone with “with all the money we spent on that wedding, we could have got some KFC instead”

You know, because it’s stupidly over priced.

  20. Yeah sure I wouldn’t actually be opposed to banning ads for red meat. But I do think we should start with the most harmful things first.

Junk food, alcohol, gambling them maybe some time after red meat too.

Do you the ban on smoking ads was a good idea?
