All trains cancelled from London Euston station just days before Christmas

  1. Now we just need all the other routes out of London closed and a wall built around the city

  2. Would it be even Christmas without a day where travel chaos ensues?

Sounds like a time for Planes, Trains and Automobiles, UK version (or as it’s going to be known Ferries, Boris Bikes and Rail Replacement Services)

  3. We see this shite every year. Having Christmas in your own home with zero travel is one of life’s very simple pleasures, one which for varying reasons I’ve only had three times since 2005.

The saving grace this time is that it’s now legally too late for ASLEF to strike in the first week of January as had been predicted by some. Wonder what their plans are.

  4. Why does any singular problem on trains cause chaos on Uk trains

  5. Didn’t even need the RMT to strike to bring the rail industry to its knees over Xmas…

  6. Heard from a friend on a stuck train it’s because of leaves on the line… still connected to the rest of the tree.

  7. Environmentalists: Stop using cars! Use public transport!

    Public transport:

  8. And ‘they’ seriously think people will ditch their cars, for this shitness

  9. Ofcourse. I would honestly rather goto jail than give up my car. Between the lack of investment and constant bloody strikes it’s just not remotely worthit.

  10. our train services are a fat waste of time, i traveled through Manchester Piccadilly on friday and most of the trains were either cancelled or severely delayed, and the one to bornemouth was ending at birmingham

  11. Perhaps the situation could be improved by building some second, more technologically advanced route from London to Birmingham. Making sure it goes all the way to Manchester, of course, and that it definitely starts at Euston.
