A mixed year for US solar: falling module prices, equipment delays, and grid constraints. Headed into 2024, the solar landscape has recovered from a 2022 contraction and looks ready for growth.

  1. Seems right. From my perspective we have 12 projects in the PJM queue since last year and looks like 2025/26 when they will be approved. And I know there’s a whole lot that will be approved this year. So once they start getting green-lighted there’s going to be a huge amount of interconnection electrical gear on order.

Based on some recent intel, the supply chain issues with electrical gear is getting better so let’s hope this supply chain easing keeps up. The demand is driving some innovation around packaging that gear into one skid for ease of install too. That will help when the demand for contractors and labor ramps up in the next two years.
