Germany stands with Ukraine in its existential struggle | No country wants peace more than Ukraine. But a simple cease-fire today would be tantamount to legitimizing Russia’s land grab and pave the way for yet another frozen conflict

It’s a frozen conflict now… the counter-offensive was a bust, the lines haven’t moved in a year, and the ground is literally frozen. If was so existential then shouldn’t Germany get into the war themselves?
100% agree.
It is an epic embarrassment that America has abandoned its promise to Ukraine, and destroyed its own credibility. US Republicans bear the brunt of the blame for this, but where are the journalists demanding an answer to the question:
# Why didn’t Joe Biden use the [Ukraine Democracy Defense Lend-Lease Act of 2022](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine_Democracy_Defense_Lend-Lease_Act_of_2022)?
It was enacted and effective on May 9, 2022, and expired on September 30, 2023 – having NEVER BEEN USED. Biden could have done so much, but instead he did the bare minimum… to pretend that the US was honoring its promise to Ukraine.
Why.
edit:
I’m American and I shit on Germany as much as anyone for their sluggishness in the first year after the 2022 war. It’s only fair that I shit on America now, because my country has embarrassed me.
A frozen conflict may be the best outcome for Ukraine. They are losing the war and their Allies (Germany excepted) are abandoning them.
Germany has no choice. Germany and Poland know they will be next.
