Lots of words. That means nothing.
Blah blah blah. Sure buddy. Send Ukraine all your weapons
We lost Macron, deal with it.
I live in Ukraine now. And I don’t see any way to end this war. Our allies never approve war actions on the territory of Russia, so Putin feels safe. Even if we fight back all captured territory, war still continues due to at least rocket attacks. We do not get any kind of guarantee of safety (from NATO or others) before war ends, so war never ends. I almost lose hope for a peaceful life in the future.
“Peace” yeah sure, what was the saying about peace? Ehmm “In order to have peace outside you must maintain peace inside”. France needs peace first.
The reality of the situation is slowly surfacing. I have seen many voices on this sub downvoted into oblivion when they tried to raise the alarm. People really thought Ukraine was going to be driving Russian forces out of Ukraine with U.S Humvees in formation whilst fireworks lit Europe in blue as Zelensky walks up to the microphone, watched from afar by young Lithuanians flying the European flag in Vilnius with tears of joy as as he stands in front of a large “Mission Accomplished” banner.
The reality is, Ukraine is fighting a force projection known to historically scale to meet its challenges. The Russian military industry is on a full war footing. From drones to artillery to new guidance kits for the 10’s of thousands of FAB munitions. Yesterday alone, a new series of military satellites were launched into space on record order to launch. There is a massive undertaking going on across the country and I believe Western intelligence is starting to add up the impact of reaching a tipping point.
Ukrainian forces are exhausted, they don’t get any rotation break. A large number of men are trying to escape the country every day and their mobilisation efforts are now turning into snatch and grabs to try and fill ranks.
Russian forces are slowly making progress across the entire front. Avdiivka, the most fortified Ukrainian position is being slowly surrounded with the same playbook we saw in Bakhmut, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk etc. Some sectors like Krynky are absolute meat grinders as Ukrainian boats keep bringing in forces that never make it back.
The risk of Ukraine not coming to the negotiation table is that it will become a depleted and exhausted force, regardless of how much military aid it gets. The West is coming to the dawning realisation that this could cause the balance of power to tip significantly as Russian armament scales that Ukraine could loose a lot more than it already has. Russia has time, Ukraine doesn’t.
And Russians are already saying that they won’t stop on Ukraine. The bigger war is coming. It will be literally a 1930s recap.
Europe must support Ukraine not only because if Russia “win”, it proves that by WMD-blackmail and “WMD-Might make Right/True” logic anyone with WMD could do what they want. And not only because then all Ukrainian resources will be used to attack Europe further. But and because Europe already attacked by Russia, created by u/SLAVAUA2022 list:

France saying they want to defend freedom and actually doing it and putting money where it’s mouth is are two wildly different things.
The U.S. and Europe need to commit more to Ukraine, that is clear to anyone paying attention.
Hypothetically ….
If Trump wins and he withdrew the US from NATO. Would the existing NATO members be strong enough to repel Russia in the event they attacked other NATO countries (such as the Baltics or Iceland etc).
Sometimes, to be at peace, you need to stop the one wanting to assault you.
You can’t talk peace with someone like Putin. He has everything to loose with peace. Do you really think anyone in his country will forgive him if he don’t prevail ? Why do you think he’s paranoid about his security ?
Prevent an escalation? What else does Russia need to do to prove that they are going to stop.
Is it the same man who said that Putin must not be humiliated?
