Imagine having a government who’s policy isn’t essentially “bloody young people, they have it too easy these day, I tell ya”.
Public transport should be free to everyone across the country in my mind.
If I had access to free bus/train/tram travel, I wouldn’t bother owning a car, and neither would a lot of people.
Kids get discounts anyway. And don’t have cars. So they take the bus already. So how is this helping? It’s just another huge amount of tax payers cash that will result in no change in environmental outcomes or behaviours. If bus travel was expensive then I could get it, but it is completely affordable for even the poorest in society. It’s simply a brazen attempt at trying to win votes from young people.
