    AFAIK the orc use Su-34s to drop glide bombs from tens of kilometers behind the lines (like 70?) because they are too scared of losing them.

    Every time Ukraine changes strat, there is a whole bunch of new keychains made.

  14. Beyond the downings themselves, this also makes Russian generals less likely to send in jets from this direction as it poses a major operational risk. This is a huge step in terms of just area denial potential for Ukraine if they do indeed have more dedicated medium to long range air defences there now.

  17. Expensive losses. They aren’t 40 year old Su-25s. Although they flew in the 1990s and the development stalled due to budget issues Russia has only really operated them in the past 15 years. Realistic cost from analysts alleged to be in the region of $40-50m each. Another very expensive day for the Russian government, not including the potential losses of the pilots.
