  1. The guy should just go all in and legalize it federally

It’d boost those poll numbers that’s for sure

  2. Didn’t he already claim to have done this over a year ago?

  3. Cool now pivot to legalization otherwise Biden’s toast next election!

  4. “On federal lands” is *very* specific and I would guess fewer than 10% of convictions.

  5. I’m not saying these people don’t deserve pardons, but the President having the ability to do mass pardons is going to be abused in the very near future.

  6. At the federal level, Biden also isn’t doing enough… Arresting people and putting them into the system which costs people money, stress, and possibly employment, but then forgiving them after the fact is a half ass way to try to win over voters but continuing to please your lobbying donors.

Btw, this isn’t a Republican vs democrat statement. I hate them both

  7. He wins in 2024 if he’s successful in rescheduling marijuana.

Republicans cannot win that culture war, there is no amount of messaging against it that does not lose a majority support.

If some boomer wants to tell me that Xanax and Valium are less harmful than Marijuana, I want it on public record.

  8. Instead of just pushing legalization through…. Thanks, I guess… The least he can do since his son is getting a free pass for smoking crack.

  9. Reminder that congress is the only body that can actually legalize. Biden has done what he can pushing for schedule 3. HHS has already officially recommended moving to schedule 3, and it is currently in the DEAs hands. DEA has never gone against an HHS recommendation before, so all signs are that it is to be officially moved to schedule 3 soon.

There are rumors the announcement is coming next week, but I dont buy them just yet. A group of governors sent a letter to Biden to ensure that it is announced before years end, but I think it’ll get announced Q1 2024 when Biden starts campaigning harder.

Biden has done what he can for Cannabis reform, but full legalization is in congresses hands.

EDIT: And my understanding of schedule 3 is that it would effectively legalize medical cannabis nationwide. Which is huge.

  10. Omg…a president using pardons correctly? Get me my fainting couch!

  11. Every day I wake up and find that Biden has done something good for America.
