Welp, time to add butterfly to my list of “songs I never expected to hear over combat footage”.
Each group of soldiers must have a dedicated anti-drones operator who is equipped, at the very least, with a radio frequency scanner and analyser.
You can almost understand why so many wounded have been left for dead by both sides in this war, these drones make CASEVAC an absolute nightmare.
Honest question; isn’t this a violation of international humanitarian law? Couldn’t it be considered a war crime?
I know you don’t need the red crosses for it to be considered a violation, that’d be different.
Anyway, damn, drones are brutal.
edit; more context.
I’m no defending Russians, I’m pro Ukraine. That doesn’t mean I won’t put them to the same principles I’m criticizing Russians, Israelis and Palestinians. My comment is regarding the context, not if it’s justified or not, so the “the Russians are doing worse” argument doesn’t matter. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
A war crime might be a stretch, but I did some research and if they are retreating and not in combat, that’s a violation alright.
It serves to show how gray conflicts are. Fucking hell.
That guy on the stretcher has lost all of luck and a few limbs
The drone pilots are becoming crazy good.
If the drone was playing the song of the video it would have been a warcrime.
And I thought hitting your shin on the corner of the bed was painful…
Reminds me of another video I saw of the same thing but from a different drone observing. Only one guy survived even though he was carrying the stretcher.
They can tell their commanders no and go back home. That’s an option.
I’m no fan of Russia’s war on Ukraine but I still think wilfully attacking a casevac like this is nothing to cheer. And yes I know that in certain cases its allowed by Geneva’s code, still fucked up imo.
Good teamwork. All nice and close to each other. Made the drones job easier. And at the end of the day, isn’t that we all really want. to just help lighten the load?
I’m not a fan of smoking these kind of parties in general…
But at the same point, you invaded your peaceful neighbors. You are literally asking for it
