I recently wanted to buy a super saver SBB ticket, which is valid exclusively for the connection selected SBB, for example the connection in the picture. However I’m almost sure that the bus will get delayed due to traffic jam and I’ll have to wait 1/2 hour for the next train. Taking the same bus 5 minutes earlier is not allowed.

Any tips to handle this situation?

Some ideas, which don’t look practical at first sight:
Buying two tickets separately
Adding a fake extra Bus stop just to force SBB to propose a track with an earlier bus, but it requires to know very well the bus network in that city

  2. Buy another ticket just for the bus ride, so you can take one earlier. And then use the discounted ticket for the train ride

  3. Why taking the bus 5 min earlier is not allowed?

    I have taken this exact train last January and remember people arriving with the bus and it was on time.

  4. Just buy the ticket. If you loose your connection because of reasons out of your control (delays, cancellations…) you are officially allowed to just take the next connection even with the saver ticket.     Maybe make a printscreen of the app that shows the delay.
