  1. This is a very sad descicion. Historical monuments that remind us why we should live in peace shouldnt get removed to satisfy the nationalist prospective of some individuals.

  2. Of all countries I didn’t expect Germany to remove a monument to genocide victims

  3. This is a very very dumb move for Germany of all places to do.

  4. Cowards.

Ps. They will put a new one with more “general” theme.

  5. Many left parties like the SPD are sucking up to turkish nationalists because they want their votes.

  6. A disgusting shame, considering that the Kaiserreich helped in the deportation of Armenians.

  7. Very unfortunate decision. Gradually we are seeing the strong, neo-liberal values that exemplified Europe in the past several decades disappear. I don’t think we will like what is going to replace them.

  8. Bring it to Munich, Cologne. We have a nice Armenian community and if racists try to attack a monument here, they get a demonstration of the correct usage of batons.

  9. You really have to wonder where it all ends. Kowtowing to racists and fascists is not a good look for Germany but I guess it’s easier than doing the right thing

  10. You get the problems that come with the demographics you import. You don’t just get the delicious kebabs and water pipes and get away from the rest of it. Can’t pick and choose what you get.

Maybe if the germans did a better job of integrating and assimilating this particular diaspora, who are at like what, the third generation and are starting on the fourth?

Maybe it’s just the turkey-born babyboomers that are responsible for this. I hope so anyway.

  11. Yall gotta be shitting me. I thought dumbest choice this week was austria buying chinese shitcars for the gov

  12. Did I understood correctly that this “monument” was installed 2023? And it’s not a permanent one, but rather an art installation?

Someone with better understanding of German please assist?

  13. Cologne has become an overrated tourist town as well. Don’t go to Cologne.

  14. When you’re so inclusive that you start excluding and censoring other minority groups.

  15. “Stop palestinian genocide!!” and “Lol, armenian genocide never existed” at the same time. I hate how West turned to be pleasant with Middle East.

  16. In a country where genocide took place its a shame they’re removing a monument about genocide.

  17. Let’s flip this around, if there was a German community in Turkey, do you think they would form a right wing pressure group to bully and harass the Turkish people? I doubt that. We let these people into europe, and this is how they treat Germans. Erdogan said to German turks in 2011 when invited to speak by angela Merkel, that you should assimilate, get into politics, but don’t integrate. Now this is what we have to deal with.
