Ukrainian and Russian sources report three Su-34 strike aircraft were shot down over Kherson, with photos of the ejection site shared. This was likely Patriot, however Russian pages are reporting that an F-16 squadron is active in Ukraine now. This is near Chaplynka and Kalanchak.

The very best news. Close the skies!
“We can’t rule out that this wasn’t the result of friendly fire”. Whatever did it I hope they keep doing it.
>however Russian pages are reporting that an F-16 squadron is active in Ukraine now
fucking fake bullshit
we all know all 3000 F-16 Ukraine has received have been destroyed in the first day of the war
COST
I did a little research and although there is not an exact figure, a SU 34 Fighter Jet costs at least the equivalent of $50 million US dollars at a minimum. If 3 jets were just shot down, that would cost Russia a minimum of $150 million USD to replace them “if” they had all the necessary parts, not to mention production time.
BUILD TIME
It can take 2-3 years to build a fighter jet from ordering it to completion on the assembly line. Lets assume its at least 1 year at a minimum, considering its on a continuous assembly line for the Russians, and they can get all the parts needed (most made outside Russia) which is very complicated due to the sanctions against Russia.
PRODUCTION LIMITS
Lets also assume that even “if” Russia had all the parts, they can only make a certain amount of fighter jets per year.
TOTAL # OF RUSSIAN SU-34 FIGHTER JETS
In 22 months of hard fighting, Russia has lost at least 25 of its 150 existing SU-34 (some sources say there were only 132 in existence).
Lets do the math:
1. If there were 150 in existence, these 3 additional shot down jets would make it approximately 28 …..meaning more than 1 out of 6 fighter jets down to 122 left. Of course, some percentage of these existing jets may be in-operational and thus they are being used for parts, etc.
2. If there were 132 in existence, these 3 additional shot down jets would make it approximately 28 …..meaning more than 1 out of 5 fighter jets down to 104 left. Of course, some percentage of these existing jets may be in-operational and thus they are being used for parts, etc.
CONCLUSION
With more Patriot missile systems being donated to Ukraine (specifically Japan), the ability to move them closer to the Front Line to go on “offense” (vs protecting cities in defense) means more Russian jets and helicopters will likely be shot down in the future.
Russia is losing significant military equipment, aircraft and personnel which can only be considered a financial and military disaster which will eventually catch up to Putin!!!
YOUR COMMENTS WELCOME!!!
These figures are all estimates so feel free to add any information you might have that will further the discussion on cost, replacement, build timelines, etc.
Hey Putin, you said in your multi-hour staged interview that you had ordered your military to finish off the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro. It takes zero intelligence to figure out that there are going to be airborne attacks with glide bombs because you warned about it, and to wisely position Patriot batteries in Kherson to welcome them.
What are the russian sources reporting this
FAFO 🤣
Maybe maybe not.. I have heard they really like those Patirots
Could be as suggested on one other post that Ukraine got a missile system (not Patriot) across the River and into Range. The other possibility is they are getting Manpads to the Partizans and Russia has been launching glide bombs from the same area so known position to launch manpads from. But most likely a Patriot battery now calls the Kherson or Odesa areas home. It would make sense as they need to protect the port areas and give air cover over the Bridge head and Crimea. Once the F16’s are active it will make life even more difficult for Russia.
Can anyone explain where he’s coming up with what he says about a UA drone attack on “Murmansk Airfield in Rostov”? He says it happened a few days ago.
He says it starting around 4:38. I can’t find any info on that.
Of course the Russians would have just invented stories of F-16s. There always has to be some kind of fantastic external explanation for their epic failures.
Dropping 3 of your absolute best fighter bombers in a day is an incredible loss. It really doesn’t matter how it happened – but that’s such a significant blow, that it will alter where the remaining ones are used for sure.
Interesting that the supposed location is about where the planes would be releasing the glide bombs for an attack on Krinky, at around 50km from the target. The point at which the pilots would be at maximum concentration; just when they don’t want a threat warning receiver going off.
If the Patriot batteries have the PAC 2 missiles then the radar and launchers could be anywhere up to 100km north of the Kherson frontline i.e. well out of range of anything except cruise and ballistic missiles. A Patriot battery is high mobility and can be deployed in under an hour. The chances of Russia having eyes that far from the frontline is pretty small. And the time it would take to report, authorize and implement a missile launch would be prohibitively long.
The real advantage is not that any planes or pilots have been lost, it is that an avenue of attack has been denied. If three planes have been lost, then will any more be sent?
Patriot, F16, or space laser, it had to be a nasty surprise and shake them up. Maybe it slows down the number of nasty glide bombs for a bit. Gives me the Christmas spirit. Ho Ho Ho.
Whether by Patriot or F-16, sounds like good news either way.
imagine if this is by F16 squadron really…

imagine the WTF the ruz have tell… “eheheh we are free to go… WHAT THE FUCK IVAN??? are they vodka plane?”
Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if the f16s were true, wouldn’t be the first time a country announced they will be sending weapons and they’re actually already in Ukraine aimed and loaded.
