this is depressing for me.. Mostly for personal level, because I recently started walking and for the past 2 months i’ve been trying to walk for 1hr 3 times a week (started from 15minutes).. but MAN, it’s so difficult to just convinse myself to go for a walk.. I just don’t like it… I think it’s in our DNA as Cypriots to just hate walking or something.Everytime i skip a day, it becomes exponensially difficult to go for a walk again. wtf
I have a feeling this isn’t quite true.
When I was in Helsinki I walked a lot, because it’s pleasant there. You can walk for 10 minutes from bus station to (hotel) no problem. Pavement is nice, view is nice, weather is nice. Anu attempt to do so in Cyprus is doomed:
1. It’s hard to walk (cars on the walks, walks disappear, filled with garbage bins, trees or just to narrow to walk).
2. There is nowhere to walk. There is no public transport (e.g. from my home to my work).
3. Doing it at +39 is slightly better than at +42.
4. Nothing around is pleasing eyes. Architecture is non-existing at most places, and tanks/unmaintained buildings are everywhere.

As result: it’s easier to drive than to walk.
