Hello Norway!

So, this one is a weird one.

My friend’s dad was on the Brazilian Navy during the military dictatorship. The thing is, he was also part of the resistance, so he got kicked from the country for some years, living in exile.

During these years, he went to Norway to work in the docks. He would serve post cards from Norway to Brazil from time to time, talking about life and stuff to his family – parents and brothers.

My friend found two of these postcards this week. They are dated from 1969, and he wrote down the kids’ names and ages, together with a short text.

[First Postcard:](https://imgur.com/3XeGKki) it reads “remembrance of my visit to the city of Trondheim, in Norway, and remembrance of my 8 years old friend Olauser” followed by “Trondheim, in 8-2-1969”. Some other things we are not sure what it is and my friends remark “and here???”.

[Second Postcard:](https://imgur.com/0JxEqnZ) “remembrance of my visit to the city of Trondheim, in Norway, and remembrance of my 9 years old friend Ronning” and “Trondheim, in 8-2-1969”.

We know his dad had a Norwegian girlfriend back in the day. However, the kids’ age do not match for him to be their parents. The Brazilian dictatorship started in 1964, when the kids were already born. We want to know if there is any way of reaching these people and ask how they knew him.

My friend’s dad died in a really young age, so it would be super nice for him to have some sort of contact with people who met him back in the days. Also, my friend does not speak English greatly, the reason why I am posting on his behalf.

  1. maybe you can do a quick search in gulesider.no or 1881.no, they are both websites which have lists of people living in Norway and their addresses. So maybe you can search the name and if too many results then filter to only people in Trondheim. Good luck

  2. The name on the first postcard is “Olausen”, not an r but and n at the end. If that helps your searches😀

And it says “Regards Randi Granbo (Not completly sure about the surname due to the handwriting, but it is a female name) , and the name of this street: [https://goo.gl/maps/A6oxwSHpPh8q9iXd6](https://goo.gl/maps/A6oxwSHpPh8q9iXd6)

  3. Are you sure these are kids ages? Or could it be «my good friend through 8 years…»?

Guessing the second one is Tore Rønning, living in Hans Nissens gate in Trondheim. Fairly common name, 15-20 people listed in the phone book by that name.

  4. The second postcard seem to refer to a Rønning, not Ronning, with one of our peculiar wovels in our 29 letter alphabet, worth noting for further search
