  1. Should of told the Chinese the Houthis were Filipino fisherman they would attack them then

  2. OK, China. You’re right. We won’t bother. Have fun with your transshipments to Ikea, and Europe. Or incoming oil.

  3. They don’t want to show that their Navy is a paper tiger without the ability to shoot down simple drones…..

  4. They’re too busy bullying fishermen to do anything useful.

  5. China has enough issues of their own to worry about. Their economy is on the brink of collapse. Them even talking about Taiwan is a mere distraction. They can’t and won’t do shit. Xi isn’t the brilliant leader that he thinks he is.

  6. they know the US will do the work anyway. Why waste their own money and resources? It’s incredibly selfish, but I don’t think Pooh Bear cares about that.

  7. Even if it wanted to participate, China’s cloned junk ships couldn’t perform anyway.

  8. Meanwhile we have US flagged ships stranded for a week in the Red Sea waiting for an escort. While everyone waits for some sort of master agreement, the US Navy should be escorting US flagged vessels. That’s their primary job – not being world policeman.

  9. Letting the houthis sink only Chinese cargo sounds excellent to me

  10. I’m pretty sure part of China’s motivation is the more ships there the less in the Pacific challenging its claims.

  11. They are too busy spraying harmless ships with water cannons.

I don’t get how they think they can match the US navy when they can’t even protect shipping lanes from poorly equipped terrorists.

  12. The PLANs been “doing anti-piracy operations” in the region for a while now. Theyre unreliable at best and have had several reported instances of completely ignoring distress calls. Luckily there are real naval powers in the area to actually protect shipping

  13. Let’s be real here. China isn’t in a position to protect the world and never will be. We don’t want their help anyways.

  14. China is happy to watch and see how the US and its allies handle this situation. Idea being that how the US handles this will inform China on how the US may handle a complete blockade of the South China Sea.

  15. They’re busy bullying the Philippine Navy in the South Chinese Sea. Hands are tied…

  16. maybe US should pay off Houthis to attack China ships instead

  17. Leak to the Houthis the coordinates of the Chinese warships, and tell them that they are cargo ships heading to Israel.

  18. They shrug because China is allied with Iran, which supports the Houthis and their attacks on ships.

  19. Are any ships tied to China targeted? If they arent a target why care about protecting shipping? Anything that mess with the US/west might be a good thing in their book

  20. Did they forget that half those ships are sending chinese products to Europe?

  21. Dude I don’t understand. Why is it our problem again? Our shipments from Europe comes through the Atlantic Ocean and our shipments from Asia comes through the Pacific Ocean. Like what do we gain from this if we get into another Middle East conflict?

  22. $20 says China is helping them with thier drones and missiles. Helps thier geopolitics and keeps America tied up

  23. This is what happens when the world policeman goes away. It’s just the start.

  24. China’s navy is decades behind the west, they don’t want cooperation because it will show what a paper tiger they are. Two of their three carriers still use ski jumps, and most of their surface vessels are basically coast guard ships.

  25. Of course they shrug. Lol they ain’t dumb. If it’s not your problem don’t make it your problem.

  26. They don’t want everyone to see how bad their garbage navy is in actual action.

  27. Meanwhile these pieces of shit are helping Russia with their raping and pillaging Ukraine.

  28. The US should refuse to protect ships headed to China. China is reliant on shipping for food and fuel. China will have to step up or starve.

  29. The US knew the Chinese wouldn’t participate. They just want to call attention to their bullshit

  30. I wonder how things would go if we just protected our own stuff, and left the rest of the world to their own devices.

  31. A solution could be to patrol the waters and only protect the vessels of the countries that are participating.

  32. “Hey! This affects you too!”

    “Meh.”

“It’s the *Red* Sea! Shouldn’t *red* China be more concerned?!”

    🤷‍♂️

    “Oh come on!”

  33. Another exhibit of why they shouldn’t be in charge of the world.

  34. Stop protecting Chinese ships in the Red Sea. If they don’t give a shit about the vessels, then why the hell should we?

  35. Dealing with these things isn’t really an expense for the US. They are paying for the fleet, planes, and soldiers anyway.

And, they are paying for training exercises.

These sorts of skirmishes lets the US learn and test tactics, weapons, and strategy.

The US should have had a strategy plan for the current scenario. They didn’t — a fail.

The challenge is how to just target the bad guys, and not civilians.

  36. Announce that they will not be protecting Chinese ships?

  37. China cares about 2 things. First priority is Chinese state security. Second priority is Chinese philosophy and culture. This doesn’t impact China so they have no incentive to care. It actually benefits them that the US is struggling.

  38. China does not need to take part in this because Chinese ships aren’t getting threatened.

They aren’t being threatened because China isn’t supporting a genocide.

US and other ships won’t be threatened either if they renounced support for genocide.

    It really is quite simple.

  39. China recognizes the state of Palestine. It’s probably in their best interest not to aid in the eradication of a country.
