  1. > Palmer confirmed she and Hartmann took a call from Trump but said she didn’t remember what was discussed.

“Yeah, the President of the United States called me but I don’t remember what it was about.”

  2. By “could” and “trouble”, I hope they mean “will” and “charges”.

  3. Thought she was already in trouble. Just because the hammer hasn’t dropped yet doesn’t mean it isn’t clearly coming.

  4. It’s not just a bribe, it’s a multi state organized crime scheme as well as open rebellion. I’d like to see it treated as such for a change.

  5. I wonder if this is where Trump gained some of his control over the GOP. Convince them all to do illegal shit on your own recording and use it as insurance.

  6. It really is difficult to see how she doesn’t get indicted for this.

  7. Well, yeah. They should but almost absolutely won’t.

  8. It is stunning that the head of the RNC and the President of the United States told Michigan officials to not certify the 2020 election. The GOP is a criminal enterprise under RICO if they have a pattern or ongoing business that is used for criminal activity.

If you have the President, head of the RNC, White House Chief of Staff, and attorneys who all conspire in multiple efforts to overturn an election, knowing their actions are made based on a lie, and then implore GOP leaders in several states, to join the conspiracy, to commit fraud, to stop the peaceful transition of power, this qualifies for RICO, as part of a sustained pattern of felonies.

Of course, now we know there was a wide-ranging effort to produce fake slates of electors in battleground states, and the President himself called officials in several states imploring them to help overturn the election. When everything failed, and Trump was in his most desperate state, he told his followers to come to a protest in DC, “Be there, will be wild!” And then Trump said, “fight” over 20 times in his January 6 speech, before telling his armed followers to march to the Capitol.

He lit the flame, fanned the flame, and then watched it burn. That there is a recording is the type of evidence prosecutors dream of.

  9. None of them thought “boy we’d better actually succeed at placing Trump in the Office of President against the will of the people or we’re fucked”

  10. Subpoena Hartman and Palmer for testimony, swear them in under threat of perjury and then charge McDaniel with obstruction of an election.

  11. >”We’ve got to fight for our country,” said Trump on the recordings, made by a person who was present for the call with Palmer and Hartmann. “We can’t let these people take our country away from us.”

Translation: You have to cheat and lie to help me protect my grift and keep me out of prison.

The criminality is so obvious, here. These fools then came back saying they had been *pressured* to certify the Biden results and did so under duress.

Prosecute these criminals, already. Along with anyone who funded transportation for insurrectionists to get to DC. And, along with congresspeople that gave “case the joint” tours to insurrectionists ahead of time, etc.

  12. >Law professor: RNC chairwoman Ronna McDaniel ***[SHOULD]*** ~~could~~ face legal “trouble” after damning phone call.

    FTFY

  13. “If Trump is our nominee, he will destroy us, and we will have deserved it.”

  14. Good. She’s a traitor who tried to help Trump overthrow an election.

  15. I’ve really come to dislike the word “could” lately. Blatant crimes are being committed, and we’re sitting here determining whether or not people should be held accountable

  16. The Republican leadership seems incapable of NOT breaking the law. They seem to have more in common with a low level organized crime operation than a legitimate political body.

  17. Honestly, we’ve been slow-walking Repub lawlessness since freaken Nixon and it only makes them bolder. Now they aren’t even trying to stay inside the lines

  18. What I learned from this whole era is that the words and precisions of law professors and law experts don’t mean anything, because the scotus and judges around the country don’t really give a fuck about the laws.

  19. This explains why the RNC was continuing to pay Donald Trump’s lawyer fees, even after leaving office and not being on a campaign.

Of course, there is also the [leverage](https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2022/07/rnc-trump-running-2024-legal-bills) they had to prevent him from running as a Third Party candidate. Ronna [McDaniel](https://thehill.com/homenews/sunday-talk-shows/3721990-rnc-chair-says-committee-cant-pay-trumps-legal-bills-if-he-announces-2024-run/) warned Trump, if he ran third party, they’d stop paying his fees.

We’ve always seen this from the racketeering angle of Trump forcing the RNC to follow him because he holds at least 40% of their base no matter what. They need to be [able to fundraise off his Email list](https://www.nytimes.com/2021/12/16/us/politics/rnc-trump-investigations.html). They need to get out the vote thru his list. So they stick with Trump.

*But this Michigan story illustrates, blood in, blood out. They both committed crimes to stay in political power. Allowing Trump to be found guilty of Election interference could impune the RNC. They are part of the racketeering angle outlined above. The RNC and MAGA are extorting each other.*

  20. The moron masses, the ones who believe every thing and every turn is a conspiracy, will refuse to allow the real person at the heart of all of this go to prison where he belongs.

  21. It would be nice if the DOJ had the balls to one day go after republican leaders for documented criminal conspiracies.

  22. Not going to lie.. I’d 100% support her being put behind bars.
