Of course he does. Open another coal mine while you’re at it.
What, a tory not caring about people or the environment? Shock me
Labour under Starmer is nothing but a b-team of conservatives to the Tory Party. They share all the basic principles of conservatism with the Tories.
People who aren’t politically engaged but who just want the Tories out will ensure that Labour win. That leaves the door open to people who actually want progressive and environmental policy to vote Green with the goal of “doing a UKIP” and forcing Labour to court the left and climate-conscious voters.
UKIP are the party that was campaigning to leave to the EU in 2015. They didn’t win a single seat, but they won so many votes from the Tories that they forced David Cameron to call a referendum to quell division in his party’s base.
If the Greens get a significant protest vote snd deny Labour the huge majority that Starmer expects, they will impose Starmer lots of awkward tight votes in parliament, and they will force Labour to take climate policy seriously.
