I’d agree with Ukraine in this one. The war is still ongoing and it is premature to declare Russia has suffered strategic defeat.
When the bullets and missiles stop flying and Russia pull its troops back then it will mean Russia is thwarted from swallowing Ukraine.
Strategic defeat, sure. But it doesn’t mean the war has ended. Ukraine is still waiting for warplanes. I hope they’ll deliver on their promise to ramp up sabotage inside Russia.
Uh how? The war is still ongoing and AFAIK, Ukraine isnt doing well.
He can declare what he wants but reality is different. Russia is still fighting and with support for Ukraine drying up, they are bound to lose. If Ukraine doesn’t get support from EU or USA, they’re as good as dead.
They were strategically defeated a few weeks into the invasion when they proved to the world they were incapable of quickly defeating a much smaller country.
The world USED to think Russia was a powerful country with an effective military, and now they see they are one of the worst modern fighting forces for a country the size of Russia, and thY they would essentially automatically lose a fight with any of their peers or rivals.
Strategic defeat doesn’t mean Ukrainian victory. Nor does it win Ukraines land back.
It’s so nice for people from countries not in a war and far away from battlefields to declare some sort of victory while war rages on in full swing with pendulum of success swinging not exactly towards one or other side too favourably(looking at Blinken as well)…
Wishful thinking.
Defeat of Ukrainian government is not a question.
I wish ukranians will catch Zelenskyy for his crimes.
Russian strategic defeat near Kyiv in 2022 could become Russian victory overall in 2025
Declaring a strategic defeat means what exactly? Ukraine is fighting for its land and its people.
